Wednesday, June 2

Hi, This morning we found out from our squash guys that there is a soccer game (called football, here) this afternoon at the big stadium here (built for them by the Chinese govt.) Brazil is playing Zimbabwe. I think Brazil is here for the World Cup in SA and just doing some practice games. The World Cup starts June 11th. Anyway, Jim went with the Nields to the game. He was pretty excited about that as he has been saying ever since we got here that he would love to go to a soccer game in that stadium. I guess Brazil is one of the favorites for the World Cup so it should be a good game.

I stayed at the office because we had a couple of appointments coming in to talk about quotes for drilling wells.

Sounds like he is on his way back to the office -- in a maze of traffic. Brazil won 3 to 0.

The couples here and 2 or 3 others are trying to chip in to buy 3 bicycles for some young men that could really use them. If anyone is interested in helping us with $10 or $20 or ? You could give it to Kimberley and she can send it to us via Moneygram or Western Union. Don't feel like you have to though - maybe I shouldn't be asking. The bikes are about $250 to get a decent one that won't fall apart in a month. If we happen to get any extra $ we can use it to help someone else as there is no lack of needy people here. So many people depend on bikes as transportation (if they are lucky enough to have one). Thousands just walk.

Tomorrow we have appointments to do with boreholes and Friday we have Zone conference. Another week is speeding by. Bronte will be here on Sunday night for 3 weeks to tag around with us. That will be fun and oh yeah, she is bringing us a camera so I can take pictures again!

Must run. Love Nancy/mom
