Remember Edson? His mom Pauline brought him to see us yesterday and he is looking so much better and is smiling now. He is about 5 months old but still quite small. He is the baby that almost died and we took formula out for him and food for the mom so that she could build up herself and be able to breast feed. She is doing much better and is now vending bananas to help support her 4 boys. She is living in a polygamy situation so Edson's dad helps her some. She said she didn't know he had another wife until she was pregnant with Edson but now the
husband, Edward, spends a night with each. He is a policeman now. She ask about coming to our church and I said she was welcome but as long as she is living polygamy she could not be taught by the missionaries and she could not be baptized.

Our baby Edson - look how well he's doing

There are termites working away by a tree in the gardens. The holes are huge and tunnel underground. They put a 5 gallon bucket in the big hole so that no one would fall in. Apparently when the rains come the termites will come up. There is some poison that can be put in the hole to kill them -- I think we better look into that very soon.
Termite hole - They stuck a bucket at top of hole so no one will fall in

Termites down the hole

Yesterday, today and tomorrow bush - yesterday is the bud, today is the purple flower and tomorrow is the white flower

  1. Oh, thank you for sharing the picture of the baby! He looks So much better and happier. I hope his mom can find a better situation for them both to be living.

That termite hole is HUGE! I have never seen anything like it, or that flowering tree for that matter. Very neat indeed.
